A woman was arrested on Friday after allegedly violating the rules of temple by entering its sanctum sanctorum during Janmashtami celebrations.

According to the police officials, the woman has been identified as Jiteshwari Devi, member of the former royal family of Madhya Pradesh’s Panna. The police officials informed that Jiteshwari Devi forcefully tried to disrupt the rituals that were going on in the temple during the time of ‘aarti’ on Janmashtami. Eventually, while being stopped after trying to enter the sanctum sanctorum, she tripped and fell.

A video also got surfaced on Twitter, showing her arguing with the temple authorities. Locals who were present at the temple also claimed that Jiteshwari Devi was not listening to temple authorities. Soon, the erstwhile queen was dragged out of the temple by police personnel.

Notably, the Madhya Pradesh police has arrested the woman and registered a case against her. The investigation in the case is underway.
