Woman dies after husband attempts to cut umbilical cord watching tutorial

A 27-year-old woman has died in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri while delivery due to severe blood loss after her husband attempted for a natural birth at home and cut the umbilical cord while watching a tutorial at YouTube. According to the police officials, she suffered blood loss after her husband was unable to do it properly.

The lady has been identified as M Lokanayaki (27), wife of Madesh (30). Notably, police have taken the accused in the custody and the child is under observation at Pochampally Government Hospital.

What all happened during the incident?

According to the sources, the incident happened on Tuesday when Loknnayaki developed labour pain. Soon after her husband decided and tried to attempt the natural birth while being at home. However, soon after her delivery, her condition turned worsen due to severe blood loss.

Madesh then took his wife and the newborn to the nearby Primary Health Centre, where the doctors declared her dead. following which, the medical officer immediately informed the police about the incident.

What was found during the investigation?

After the preliminary investigation the officials found that Madesh used to watch YouTube channels on home births. Following this he was taken into custody.

Adding to this, police said that they have registered a case of unnatural death and if the charges are confirmed, the arrest of the accused will be registered.
