Haryana Police on Tuesday have arrested Bittu Bajrangi, the head of cow vigilant group called Gau Raksha Bajrang Force from Faridabad near his house. Bittu, who is also a member of Bajrang Dal, has been previously booked for hate speech.

According to the police officials, Bittu has been booked in connection with the Nuh violence and has allegedly posted provocative videos before the 31 July.

The CCTV footage shows that police officials are trying to nab him in the civil clothes armed with sticks and guns. They were successful in catching him after a long chase.

Notably, it is more than a fortnight after communal clashes brought Haryana to a near standstill. The clashes have claimed six lives so far. However, the situation is under control, according to the officials.

After Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Usha Kundu made a complaint to the Sadar Nuh police station on Tuesday, a FIR was made against Bajrangi. Aside from rioting and violating Section 25 of the Arms Act, the allegations against him also include assault or using unlawful force to prevent a public employee from performing their job.
