Viral Video: Man caught ‘smoking beedi’ in Delhi Metro, DMCR responds 

Another shocking incident happened inside the Delhi Metro. This time a man caught smoking beedi (mini-cigar) in a viral video, drawing a lot of attention from the netizens. As the video has surfaced all over the internet, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) now issued a statement after netizens demanded to take strict action against the perpetrator.

If you travel by the Delhi Metro, you will be aware that smoking inside the metro premises is strictly prohibited and is a punishable offence. Several portals shared the video of the man smoking beedi inside the metro, asking DMRC to take strict action as soon as possible.

What’s in the viral video?

In the viral video, a man can be seen sitting inside the Delhi Metro and lighting up a beedi. While no one interrupted initially, at the end, we can see a co-passenger pointing at the beedi and talking to him. Basically, it seems that he is forbidding him from smoking inside the metro. However, the identity of the man is yet to be confirmed.

DMRC responds after video of man smoking beedi in Delhi Metro goes viral

Taking notes from the video, the DMRC said, “We conduct random checking through flying squads to detect any such objectionable behaviour. We appeal to the public to instantly bring up such instances to our notice so that immediate action can be taken.”
