Vande Bharat Express, Indias semi-high-speed train is in the headlines again. But this time, it is not for speeding up, stone attacks, or collisions with cattle, but because of a ticketless passenger who could not resist the craving for a cigarette during the journey.According to the sources, a ticketless passenger who was travelling from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh to Secunderabad had just crossed Gudur station and was almost eight hours away from the destination, when he got caught.DRM Vijaywada, taking it to the official Twitter handle, requested people not to indulge in activities that can lead them to problems. The tweet reads:Passengers are requested to not indulge in any unlawful activities during journey and at Railway premises. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty https://t.co/btpNXsL9jS— DRM Vijayawada (@drmvijayawada) August 9, 2023The passenger boarded the train without a valid ticket and had locked himself inside the toilet, so the officials could not catch him but the carving for smoking dragged him into the problem. The person who was trying to travel for free was unaware of fire alarms installed in the flagship train, he went to the toilet and lit a cigarette. Soon after, alarms started ringing and an automatic fire extinguisher went to work, spraying aerosol through the compartment which sparked panic among other passengers.They instantly used the emergency phone and informed the train guard about the scenario. The busted smoker got arrested at Nellor station after the rapid action taken by the railway officials.The journey got delayed by 25 minutes due to the incident.
