The rescue efforts faced a fresh setback as the operations were again halted after the platform that supported the equipment developed some cracks in it. The rescue workers needed to stabilize the 25-tonne auger machine to reinstate the operation. The workers had been trapped for 11 days, and sections of the steel pipes were being put through the debris of the collapsed segment of the tunnel to save their lives.
