Ankita Bhandari murder case: In a decisive ruling, the Uttarakhand High Court has dismissed the bail petition of Pulkit Arya, the primary suspect in the infamous Ankita Bhandari murder case. The court, presided over by Justice Ravindra Maithani, deemed the murder a heinous crime and highlighted the substantiated allegations presented in the lower court, asserting that bail is not tenable under these circumstances.

The bail plea for Pulkit Arya, the main accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, underwent a thorough examination in the single bench of Justice Ravindra Maithani on Thursday. The High Court categorised the crime as heinous and pointed out that the lower court had already validated numerous allegations. The court stated unequivocally that, given the gravity of the case and the confirmed details from testimonies, granting bail is out of the question.

Background of the Ankita Bhandari Murder Case

Ankita Bhandari, a resident of Dobh Shrikot village in Pauri district, worked at Vanantra Resort in Rishikesh. The allegations suggest that Pulkit Arya, son of the resort owner, along with associates Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit, orchestrated Ankita's murder by pushing her into the Chilla Barrage. Tragically, Ankita lost her life due to drowning in the barrage. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of all three accused, who have been in custody since.
