Now, the National Highway 7 (NH7) towards Badrinath is blocked due to a landslide in Chamoli. According to the information the road got blocked due to incessant rainfall in Chamoli district. Falling of boulders and debris from the hill has also been reported on Thursday morning.
The same situation is also been reported in other places including Pagalnala, Gulabkoti, and Helang. The Chamoli district administration has stopped the pilgrims at safer places like Gauchar, Karanprayag, and Nandprayag as precautionary measures.

Following intense spells of continued monsoon rain over the northwestern Himalayan region several roads were blocked and people are stuck due to the same reason.
As per sources, people were also seen risking their lives, while crossing the dangerous stretches. However, the State Disaster Operation Centre located in the State Secretariat is keeping a close eye on the situation following the alerts of the India Meteorological Department.
