Amid heavy rains, a hotel building collapsed in Uttarakhand’s Kedarghati, Rampur. The heavy downpour in the district has led to landslides, mudslides and flash floods.

A video has been shared by the sources, in which a dilapidated hotel located in Rampur can be seen getting collapsed at around 8 am today. The hotel had been vacated by Police beforehand as a precautionary measure. No injuries or casualties have been reported in the collapse.

The state has been witnessing heavy downpours for several days, which has led to landslides and left the passengers stranded at many places. Apart from this, many lives have also been claimed in rain-related incidents. On Tuesday, a landslide near Vyasi on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway has been reported which has affected traffic.

IMD issues alert

Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, and Pithoragarh, are among the districts which have received an orange alert from the IMD on Tuesday. As a result of the potential for “very heavy” rainfall in a few isolated locations, Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Champawat, Nainital, and Haridwar are all on orange alert for Wednesday.

According to the IMD, all districts are on an orange warning and will continue to endure downpours through Friday.
