A Pakistani woman has been detained by the police after she was found to be illegally staying in the Greater Noida area of Uttar Pradesh along with her four kids.

According to the police, the woman and her kids were sheltered by an unnamed Noida-based man, whom she met while playing the popular online game PUBG: Battlegrounds.

“The Pakistani woman and the local man have been detained. The woman’s four children are also in police custody,” Saad Miya Khan, DCP (Greater Noida), told PTI.

The detained Pakistani woman, who is in her late twenties, came in contact with the Indian man through the online game PUBG, which bloomed into a friendship between the pair, police officials confirmed.

As a result, the woman allegedly entered India via Nepal in June, and then reached Greater Noida by bus, local police officials told PTI.

The woman and her children were residing in rented accommodation provided by the man, who was a resident of the Rabupura area of Greater Noida.

“The man and the woman are being questioned right now. Further details and facts would be shared once the questioning is over,” DCP Khan said.
