Atiq Ahmed, the murdered gangster-turned-politician, and his family have been listed as suspects in the murder of Umesh Pal by the Uttar Pradesh Police, according to the chargesheet that will be submitted today. On February 24, in front of his residence in the Dhoomanganj neighbourhood of Prayagraj, Umesh Pal and two of his police security guards were shot and killed. Many criminals and shooters, including Atiq Ahmed’s entire family, have been named as suspects in this case.
On February 25, a case was filed against Atiq Ahmad, his brother Ashraf, Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen, two kids, henchmen Guddu Muslim and Ghulam, and nine others on the basis of a complaint filed by Jaya Pal, wife of Umesh Pal. Atiq Ahmed and two other people were found guilty on March 28 by an MP-MLA court in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case and given life sentences.
Atiq Ahmed and his family are the primary suspects in the case; his wife, Shaista Parveen, is charged with organising the required resources and participating in the murderous plot. Additionally, Ashraf is charged with planning the murder and arming the attackers. Asad, Ghulam, Guddu Muslim, Sabir Usman (also known as Vijay Chowdhary), and Khan Shaukat Hanif are among the others suspected of aiding the assassins with intelligence and money, respectively. While Shaista Parveen and Ali are charged with obtaining murderous weapons, Ayesha Noori and Dr Altaf are accused of providing refuge to the murderers, hiding evidence, and assisting in their escape.
