What is the incident all about?

Hundreds of students from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) staged a demonstration on campus in the wake of the tragedy, calling for the prohibition of outsider admission. The complainant said that on November 1, she and a friend had left their accommodation. After that, the accused allegedly stripped the victim, recorded a video of her, and took pictures of her. The complainant claimed that after around fifteen minutes, they let her go and collected her phone number. Based on the complaint, a FIR was filed at the Lanka police station under the provisions of the Information Technology Act and Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with assault or criminal force to a woman with the aim to violate her modesty.
