Fisticuffs erupt at UP municipal meeting, SP chief reacts – Watch viral video

A shocking video of municipal council members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is hitting headlines, where they can be seen throwing punches at each other at a meeting in Shamli. Amid this, Samajwadi Party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has now taken a jibe at the saffron party over the video which went viral on social media. 

Municipal Council meeting sees uproar between members

An uproar broke out during a board meeting of the Shamli Municipal Council, where Municipal Chairman Arvind Sangal and MLA Prasann Chaudhary were present.

Notably, this meeting was held to discuss development projects worth four crore, however, it soon turned into a heated argument and physical confrontation between two members of the council.

After which, the Nagar Palika board meeting swelled into a wrestling arena with the two members throwing punches at each other, left, right and centre.

Taking a swipe at BJP, Akhilesh Yadav took to his X account, saying “When no development work has been done then what else could have happened in the review meeting? That is why physical blows were exchanged amongst the councillors in Shamli. Lesson of BJP rule: Come to the review meeting after arranging your own security.”

Shockingly, this entire episode of tumultuous situation took place in front of police and senior leaders.
