The Gyanvapi Mosque survey case has indeed taken a crucial step forward. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) submitted the scientific survey report of Gyanvapi mosque complex to the Varanasi Court and verdict on the report will be announced on Thursday.

According to the sources, the court will hear arguments from both sides - the Hindu group claiming a pre-existing temple and the Muslim committee managing the mosque to determine the next course of action based on the ASI report.

The report is currently in a sealed cover, and its contents haven't been made public. Both sides have raised objections regarding its availability, which the court will address.

Therefore, while the submission of the report is a significant development, it's premature to say there's an awaited verdict today.

The legal process still has some steps to go through before any final decision is reached.

Muslim party intends to file an appeal with SC

On Wednesday, the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maulana Arshad Madani, announced that the Muslim party intends to file an appeal with the Supreme Court. This ruling follows the Allahabad High Court's rejection of petitions challenging the legality of a 1991 suit that called for the "restoration" of a temple beneath the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi.

Here’s what the Allahabad HC said

The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday rejected the petitions filed by the Muslim side, challenging the maintainability of the civil suit filed with regard to the ownership of the Varanasi Gyanvapi complex and the validity of the Allahabad High Court ordering a survey by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

With this ruling, the court dismissed arguments put out by the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee in an attempt to refute five lawsuits pertaining to a title dispute in Gyanvapi.

The Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee and the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board have been contesting the suit on the grounds that the Places of Worship Act (Special Provisions) Act of 1991 forbids the suit.
