A four-foot deep pit was discovered close to the boundary of the strategically vital Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad, raising security anxieties.

Locals notified the police on December 10 about the pit, which was discovered close to the airbase's outside boundary.

“An investigation is underway by the police and the Air Force authorities. An FIR has been registered and CCTV footage is being examined," Deputy Commissioner Of Police Shubham Patel said.

Authorities are currently collecting CCTV footage and have filed a formal complaint. More details are anticipated.

The discovery of the pit has sparked concerns about a potential attempt to dig a tunnel under the airbase wall.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The police are looking into all possible angles, including the possibility of a terror attack.
