In Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, a group of mob allegedly vandalised a historical dargah and a dome of a mosque late Tuesday night. The incident took place at the Baba Bajrudiin Shah’s Dargah and mosque located in the Chharra area.

Mob vandalise dargah, mosque in UP’s Aligarh

After the incident came to light, hundreds of Muslims gathered at the spot of the incident, condemning this act and demanding strict action against the miscreants behind the act of vandalism.

The police were informed about the same, after which they immediately initiated repair work on the damaged and affected portion of the historic site.

Strict action will be taken against miscreants

Further, the police have also assured the people to take strict action against those involved in the act.

Briefing about the incident, Shubhendu Singh, a senior police official said, “The aforementioned location is not a mosque but a mausoleum. The small, broken portions above the boundary are being immediately repaired. A case has been registered, and legal action is being taken.”
