Uttar Pradesh today has presented its budget for the financial year 2023-24. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, in his speech pegged the total budget of more than Rs 6.90 lakh crore. In year 2022-23, the states budget estimate was Rs 6.15 crore.UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Today we have presented the first budget of Amrit Kaal. This budget will help in making UP self-reliant on the lines of self-reliant India. This budget will serve as the foundation to make UPs economy a 1 trillion-dollar economy in the next 5 years.”CM also added that “I am happy to tell you that the total export of Rs 86 to 88 thousand crores in the state in the year 2017-18 has come up to be around Rs 1.60 lakh crore today.”Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in India with over 24 crore population. The state is also Indias largest consumer and labour market, with it contribution to the countrys GDP estimated at more than 8 percent.While presenting the budget, states finance minister Suresh Khanna said that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for the financial year 2022-23 has been estimated at 19 percent, which is encouraging an era likely of global recession.Among the major allocations of the budget, Rs 25,350 is allocated for Jal Jeevan Mission, ensuring that all households in Uttar Pradesh will get clean tap drinking water. Last years allocation was Rs 19,500 crore.The finance minister said that by the end of year 2023-24, our target is to provide clean tap drinking water to over 2.26 crore households in the state.In addition, in the upcoming fiscal year, Rs 585 has been allocated for Kanpur Metros first 9 metre-odd section, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2021. Whereas, Rs 465 crore has been allocated for Agra Metro.Rs 550 crore allocated for the Defense Corridor with Bundelkhand Expressway and Rs 235 crore for the initial phase of Jhansi Link Expressway and Chitrakoot Link Expressway. Rs 200 crore proposed to develop industrial corridor on both sides of Gorakhpur Link Expressway.Apart from this, a provision of Rs 3,600 crore for tablets and smart phone distribution to students passed under Swami Vivekananda Empowerment Scheme.A budget provision of Rs 7,248 crore proposed for old age/farmer pension scheme Rs 1,120 crore for Divyang Pension Yojana. Also, an investment target of Rs 10 lakh crore, creation of 20 thousand jobs in next 5 years under UP Tourism Policy 2022. Along with this, Rs 20 crore proposed for Agriculture Excellent Fund for Agritech Startups to young entrepreneurs in rural areas.I am delighted to inform you that more than 19,000 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth about Rs 33.50 lakh crore were signed during the summit, finance minister Suresh Khanna said, referring to the recent Global Investors Summit, which was attended by more than 25,000 investors from around the world.The Yogi Adityanath-led governments development was flagship event, the investors summit, ended on February 12. The major gatherings goal was to bring together decision-makers, corporate titans, academics, think tanks, and world leaders to discuss commercial prospects and form alliances.He said further, more than Rs 51,639 crore has been directly transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in year 2022-23. This is under the Pradhamnatri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the centres flagship income support to small and marginal farmers.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said, This budget will represent the feelings of the people of the state, increasing the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, everyones faith, everyones efforts. New India will discharge a big role in achieving the goal of self-reliance of new Uttar Pradesh.
