Notably, Former Cabinet Minister Azam Khan is the chief of the Al Jauhar Trust. Earlier this year, the UP government cancelled a lease for a 3.24-acre plot in Rampur given to the Trust in order to set up a research institute. In 2013-14, the lease of this plot was signed for ₹100 a year for over 30 years.
However, it was nullified by the state government on allegations of irregularities. The research institute was never built.
More details are still waiting.
