The recent cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh has approved 22 proposals, including some crucial decisions expected to impact the state’s development significantly.

Focusing on sustainable development and promoting sports

One of the most important decisions in the meeting was the state’s approval of the sports policy to create a more conducive environment for athletes to polish their skills and achieve success at national and international levels.

To ensure the well-being and promotion of sport, UP will now organize Khelo India Competition as suggested and approved in the meeting. 

Focusing on sustainable development, the cabinet approved the exemption on neutralizing scrap vehicles, ensuring better waste management in the future. 

Cabinet decisions to boost education and tourism

The cabinet also approved issuing a letter of intent to four private universities, including TS Mishra University Lucknow, Varun Arjun University Shahjahanpur, Farukh Hussain University Agra, and Vivek National University Bijnor, for better higher education. While the books for classes 1 and 2 will now be published by the state government only.

Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh shared approval for the widening and expansion of a 2km road in Ayodhya, with an INR 65 crore fund allocation to promote Ayodhya as a major tourist destination.

Better safety and job opportunities for all

Moreover, the cabinet has also approved the prorogation of the budget session of the Legislature and the proposal to set up an industrial cluster in the state to create more employment opportunities.

In addition, the government has also announced the development of MSME and IT parks on the land of closed mills in Barabanki, Mau, and Rae Bareli. 

The Police Commissioner system has granted the power to take action under the Goonda Act to ADM, Joint CP, and Additional CP.

The cabinet circulated the guideline to share the receipt and mobile confirmation to the Ration card holders. A new Nodal Committee to ensure the implementation will be created as well.
