On his two-day Gujarat visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during the 49th dairy industry convention, said that Indias milk production has increased up by 10 times since independence. “From 1970 to 2022, the population of India has increased up by 4 fold and the milk production has increased 10 times due to our dairy sector.” he said.“The milk production capacity in India is around 126 million litres per day, which is the highest in the world.” The cooperative dairy has helped poor farmers and women to become Atamnirbhar.” While parsing the dairy sector in the country, he said that “the dairy sector has worked towards the development of the country. The contribution of cooperative dairy is huge which has worked for farmers.”He further added, “IDA has played a significant role in the development of the dairy sector. The technical and the industrial sessions has been organised for the farmers. The contribution of the dairy sector is more than 10 lakh crores.
