Uttar Pradesh: In a major crackdown on traffic congestion, Noida Traffic Police has rolled out new penalties for vehicle breakdowns on the Noida Expressway. Commercial vehicles causing traffic jams will now face hefty fines between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000. Implemented under the direction of DCP (Traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav, this rule aims to curb delays affecting nearly 5 lakh commuters daily.
The Noida Expressway has been plagued by frequent vehicle breakdowns, especially during peak hours, causing massive disruptions. With thousands of vehicles traveling between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi every day, stranded vehicles worsen congestion. To tackle this issue, authorities have decided to enforce penalties under Section 201 of the Motor Vehicles Act, ensuring traffic flows smoothly.

While private vehicles are currently not under scrutiny, stricter regulations may be introduced in the future.
