A passenger who came from Kaula Lumpur has been detained by customs officials at Trichy airport. The passenger has been detained with 47 python snakes and two lizards with him. The man was identified as Muhammad Moideen.Acting to the leads from intelligence, the customs officials checked the trolley bag of the passenger upon his arrival by Batik Air. After checking, the officials found 47 live pythons of different varieties, colours, and sizes concealed inside various perforated boxes beside two reptiles.According to the officials, the passenger who is around aged 31 years, is said to be from Chennai and was detained after the inquiry from the customs officials. The arrest has been made under Customs Act. The officials have also started the process of deporting the pythons and reptiles to their country of origin. However, the investigation is still on.
