New Delhi: A tragic accident in Gujarat on Sunday, July 7, claimed the lives of two minors. A tourist bus carrying 70 passengers, all from Surat, veered off course at Satpura Ghat in the Dang district of Nasik, Gujarat resulting in the fatalities. One of the passenger recorded the whole scene.

According to the reports, the bus driver lost control while attempting to overtake a truck, causing the accident. 2 children were killed in the accident and the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. This incident created a buzz on social media which made many users criticize the way the bus driver was driving the bus, One user commented, 'Was bus driver Drunk or something..no control at all.'. Another user put forward his opinions saying,' Rash driving at its peak.'.

The incident, occurred in Nasik district during monsoon season, a time known for the heavy tourist influx drawn to the region's scenic beauty, which was captured on camera by a passenger filming the surrounding views.

Similar tragic incidents

A similar incident happened in Nasik in May 2024, a horrific accident on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Nashik district claimed five lives early Tuesday morning. A state-run bus, reportedly carrying close to 50 passengers, collided with a truck. According to senior police inspector Kailash Wagh of Chandwad police station, the bus driver, identified as Suryavanshi, attempted to overtake a truck at high speed.

Tragically, he miscalculated the available space, causing the left side of the bus to slam into the truck. The impact of the collision was severe, with 34 passengers requiring immediate hospitalization. Sadly, five of those injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment, including a 14-year-old boy.
