The accused’s arrest has relieved the Tikait family and the BKU. The police have assured us they will continue investigating the matter to ensure justice is served.
The incident highlights the need for increased security measures for those who speak out on social and political issues. Naresh Tikait is a prominent farmer leader at the forefront of the ongoing protests against farm laws. Such threats and acts of violence not only threaten the individual but also undermine the democratic values of the country. The police have urged the public to provide any information that could aid the investigation.
