A shocking incident has been reported from Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, where three women including two health workers sold a newborn baby after death of his mother post-delivery. The incident was reported on Friday.

According to senior police official, accused got arrested on Friday for selling the newborn baby in Manoharpur in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. In addition to this, the health worker also made victim Munni Champia to deliver the babu illegally at her home in Turi Tola (Bhatti Mohala)

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal informed PTI that the woman died on October 1 after she gave birth to a baby boy on September 30.

The accused have been identified as Sadhna Sahu and Chandu Champia had allegedly sold the newborn baby to one Guddi Gupta, a resident of Chandil in the Seraikela-Kharswan district.

Meanwhile, Guddi Gupta who had returned the baby following the complaint has requested the administration to initiate a prompt action in the case. All the three accused have been arrested and a case has been registered under different sections of the IPC and Juvenile Justice Act (Child Welfare and protection), 2015.
