Kerala State Lotteries, established in 1967 and operated by the Government of Kerala, has garnered immense popularity over the years. This year, the Thiruvonam Bumper lottery witnessed an unprecedented surge in ticket sales, reaching a total of 66 lakh tickets sold.
The altered prize structure contributed to this surge, with the second prize being distributed among 20 winners, each receiving Rs 1 crore. Last year, the second prize was a joint sum of Rs 5 crore award, with Rs 50 lakh going to 20 third prize winners and Rs 5 lakh awarded to 10 fourth prize winners.
In a previous lottery event, the Vishu Bumper BR-91, the first prize of Rs 12 crore was secured by Anoop (ticket number VE 475588), an autorickshaw driver from Thiruvananthapuram who had won the Onam Bumper Jackpot.
