After massive win in Telangana, the next challenge for the Congress party high command is to announce the name of the next chief minister of the state. According to sources, Revanth Reddy appears to be the front-runner for chief minister among the recently elected Congress legislators. The party is likely to announce the name on Tuesday.The party will also be announcing one or two deputy chief ministers and the swearing-in ceremony will take place on Wednesday, according to sources.The freshly elected MLAs convened in Hyderabad earlier on Monday, following party tradition, voted a one-line resolution empowering the Congress president to choose the new Congress Legislature Party leader by unanimous vote.The AICC observers, which included senior leaders Ajoy Kumar and Deepa Dasmunsi, MP K Muraleedharan of the Lok Sabha, minister K J George, and deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar of Karnataka, met with each MLA individually to get their opinions. Revanth Reddy was favoured by most MLAs, according to sources.In addition to this, some of the leaders in the party is also demanding for the appointment of a Dalit and person from the backward class community as deputy CMs. Senior MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the present CLP leader, belongs to the Mala (SC) community.The intention was moved by Revanth Reddy and was approved by Vikaramarka, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Tummala Nageshwara Rao, D Anasuya, and Prem Sagar.
