A man has been taken in custody by Telangana police for allegedly killing a 23-year-old woman on Thursday as she started avoiding him. This incident took place in Nirmal district of Telangana. The woman's sister-in-law, who tried to stop the 27-year-old assaliant during the attack, was also injured in the incident that took place in full public view in Khanapur town.
The woman, her sister-in-law and nephew were returning home from a tailoring shop when the man attacked her multiple times with a knife killing her on the spot. Sister-in-law was also injured and is stated to be out of danger.
It is said that the accussed and the victim knew each other. The accussed was not allegedly happy because the woman had started avoiding him after her family members had planned to arrange her marriage and were looking for suitable alliances.
According to Police, the man was looking for an "opportunity to kill her" because of the above mentioned reasons. The victim was a student while the accussed is a labourer. The accused was taken into custody, police said.
