After the incessant rainfall in the southern state, six people have been reported to have died in Telangana.  Record-breaking rainfall continues to batter the state, reports say. The continuous rainfall has caused widespread flooding and damage to roads and crops.

Though the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the state, the actual downpour was much more than what was predicted.

A cloudburst in the wee hours of Wednesday also caused flooding in the Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts of the state. Due to heavy rains the houses have been submerged and roads have been blocked, cutting off access to several villages. Hundreds have been rescued by boats and helicopters by the rescue teams working in several areas.

Meanwhile, IMD has also issued an alert for the heavy rains in the state.
