The long journey to make a separate state began in 1952 which ended in 2014, when K Chandrasekhar Rao took oath as the first chief minister of the state on June 2.Formation of TelanganaOn July 1, 2013, the resolution to create Telangana as a distinct state was approved by the Congress Working Committee.The Telangana state was created through a bill known as the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014, which was enacted through the Parliament in February 2014. The bill was ratified by the Indian President on March 1, 2014, and Telangana was admitted as a state on June 2.
