Former Indian cricketer and Telangana Congress candidate finds himself in trouble again as four cases have been registered against him. This came as the Telangana assembly election is to be held at end of the November.

Telangana Congress has chosen Azharuddin as their candidate from the Jubilee Hills constituency. The former Indian captain is accused of misappropriation of funds during his term in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

The Rachakonda Police have registered four cases against previous members of HCA and office bearers including Azharuddin, as the cricketer is set to file nominations for the assembly polls.

Azharuddin seeks bail in all cases

The 60-year-old approached the Malkajgiri Court seeking bail in all four cases, which is registered against him. Azharuddin called it a "stunt pulled by my rivals to ruin my reputation" after the complaint was against him.

Reacting to allegations, he posted on microblogging platform X, "I have seen news reports that have reported that FIRs have been registered against me on complaints by CEO, HCA. I want to state that these are all false & motivated allegations & I am in no way connected with the allegations. I will reply to the motivated allegations against me at an appropriate time. This is just a stunt pulled by my rivals to ruin my reputation. We shall stay strong and fight harder".
