A suspected Pakistani spy of Inter-Services Intelligence or ISI has been arrested in Uttar Pradeshs Gonda for allegedly supplying vital information about Indian military establishments to his handlers, said an official statement. Official statementsSpeaking to the media, Prashant Kumar, Special DG (Law and Order), said in a statement, “Raees, a resident of Gonda, was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). He was summoned to the ATS headquarters and during interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in spying.”Raees reportedly came in contact with one Armaan in Mumbai who persuaded him to spy against India. The accused was also promised to get money and a job in Dubai by a Pakistani citizen. What was Raees asked for According to the police, the Pakistan spy received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number and was asked to contact Hussian, Then, he was asked to send pictures of the key military set-ups of India. A man identified as Salman and another unidentified man were also involved in the crime, they said. Moreover, Raees got ₹15,000 and he was in touch with the ISI via a Bangladesh-registered mobile number, said a police official. Case filed against Pakistani spy A case has been lodged against Raees at the Lucknow ATS police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) like 121 A (waging or attempting to wage war) and 123 (concealing with intent to facilitate design to wage war), and under the Officials Secrets Act, 1923, he added. Also, a probe has been set and efforts are on to arrest Armaan and Salman, the police said.
