The landing of Chandrayaan-3 on moon will be telecast live in all the state-run schools, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced. As per the notification, schools will open for one hour in the evening for the screening of the event.

According to the instructions of the education ministry of Uttar Pradesh has said that “On August 23, at 5.27 pm, the Chandrayaan-3 moon landing process will be telecast live on the ISRO website, YouTube channel and DD National. In such a situation, arrangements should be made for live telecast by organizing special meetings in schools and educational institutions from 5.15 to 6.15 pm.”

Additional State Project Director, Madhusudan Hulgi said “This is the first time that the government has decided to open schools in the evening to educate the students on such a historic occasion.”

“This will promote a deep sense of pride and unity as we collectively celebrate the power of Indian science and technology. In this sequence, all the DIET Principals and basic education offiers (BSAs) have been directed to arrange for live telecast by organizing a special meeting in schools and educational institutions from 5.15 to 6.15 pm,” Hulgi said.

Notably, on Wednesday, the Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-3 will make the soft-landing on Moon, creating the history.

Landing may get postponed, if…: ISRO

Meanwhile, according to a statement by ISRO on Tuesday, “On August 23, two hours before Chandrayaan-3 lands on the Moon, we will take a decision on whether or not it will be appropriate to land it at that time based on the health of the lander module and the conditions on the Moon. In case, if any factor appears to be not favourable, then we will land the module on the Moon on August 27. No problem should occur and we will be able to land the module on August 23.”
