On a two-day visit to Amethi, Union Minister, and Member of Parliament Smriti Irani announced a sports competition for the district youth. The event aims to highlight the youths sporting potential and increase Amethis pride by encouraging them to participate in the Olympics at the international level.Condolences and tributes paid to late individualsUpon reaching Amethi, Smriti Irani condoled the death of individuals in a double murder case and the daughter-in-law of a former MLA. Tributes were also paid to a former block chief based in the city.Youth Parliament program and MP sports competitionThe Union Minister participated in a youth parliament program by Nehru Yuva Kendra, where about 700 youths and 300 girls participated. Smriti Irani announced the MP sports competition to be held from 15 to 30 April, with teams from the block and youth circles of the parliamentary constituency participating.Cash prizes for winnersThe winning team of the block competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, the second team Rs 2.5 lakh, and the third team Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand. Youth circles will receive cash prizes of Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand, and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.Opportunities for educational institutionsEducational institutions will also be given the opportunity to participate in the sports competition, with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, 75 thousand, and 51 thousand being awarded to the institutions with the maximum participation.Distribution of sports kitsIn the program, sports kits were distributed to 13 youth circles. Jagdishpur MLA Suresh Pasi, MLC Shailendra Pratap Singh, Deputy Director of NY Dr. Aradhana Raj, and Educationist Pt.
