Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were designated as the new chief minister and deputy chief minister of Karnataka on Saturday. On the occasion, eight Congress MLAs – featuring Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank and ex-deputy chief minister G Parameshwara too took oaths as ministers. Other ministers who were sworn in were MB Patil, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, Satish Jarkiholi, Ramalinga Reddy and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan.
Congress’s senior leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi attended the swearing in ceremony held at Bengaluru’s Sri Kanteerava Stadium. The ceremony was also attended by some leaders of opposition – Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti to name a few.
Tamil Nadu chief ministers ML Stalin also mark his presence besides Bhupesh Baghel, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Haasan among others.
