In a shocking incident, two cousins were shot dead by their own relatives in Maturi village under the Madhuban police station area of Mau district in Uttar Pradesh.

The details of the incident

The incident happened when the victims, identified as Suryadeep Yadav and Pramod Yadav, were on their way to visit their cousins, with whom they had a dispute a few days earlier. The accused, identified as Dheeraj Yadav and Prithvi Yadav, opened fire at the victims during the journey, causing them to sustain serious injuries.

After being hit by the bullets, both victims fell on the ground, bleeding and crying in pain. The attackers fled the scene, leaving the injured young men in critical condition. Onlookers rushed the victims to the district hospital for medical attention, where doctors treated them for their injuries.

One of the victims had a bullet in his hand, while the other had shrapnel in his head. Due to their critical condition, doctors referred them to a hospital in Varanasi for further treatment.

The case is filed for further enquiry

Following the incident, Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey visited the district hospital to check on the victims and ordered the police to arrest the attackers immediately. The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with locals condemning the brutal act of violence.

It is unclear what led to the dispute between the victims and their cousins, which resulted in such a violent and tragic incident. However, cases of intra-family violence and feuds are not uncommon in Uttar Pradesh, where disputes between family members and relatives often escalate to violence.

The incident has underscored the importance of resolving disputes peacefully rather than resorting to violence.

Conclusion

It again highlighted the need for increased measures to curb violent crimes in the state. The Uttar Pradesh government has been trying to improve law and order in the state by introducing several new initiatives and measures to reduce crime rates. However, it is important to work more and move a step ahead to ensure the safety and security of citizens, particularly in rural areas where violence is more prevalent.
