Shimla: Truck veers off road, kills two

A major road mishap has been reported at the Theog-Chaila Road in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, when a truck veered off the road after losing balance and collided with multiple stationery vehicles.  

According to sources, the truck laden with apples, trapped four vehicles in its path. Officials have confirmed that two people have lost their lives in the accident. Soon after the accident, bodies were taken to Theog Hospital.

As per reports, the driver of the apple-laden tram made a false diversion towards Chaila Bazar while travelling from Narkanda to a market outside of Himachal through Rajgarh-Solan. According to investigations, the trolley’s brake failure triggered the collision, which led in the subsequent entrapment of four vehicles. The intensity of the collision was such that a car was trapped beneath the truck and had to be recovered using a JCB. The accident footage has gone viral.
