The Prayagraj health department has taken decisive action against two private hospitals in the area, Jeevan Raksha Hospital and Yash Raj Hospital, for operating without proper registration. The crackdown comes after officials discovered that the hospitals had failed to renew their registrations, leaving them operating illegally and potentially putting patients at risk.

Jeevan Raksha Hospital operating without registration

Led by Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr Tirath Lal, a team of health department officials visited Jeevan Raksha Hospital, located in the Babuganj area of Phulpur, to demand records related to the hospital’s registration. It soon became clear that the hospital had never been registered to operate in the first place, leading to its immediate closure.

Yash Raj Hospital failed to renew the registration

Similarly, the team visited Yash Raj Hospital in Babuganj to inspect its registration documents. Although the hospital had previously been registered, its registration had expired and was not renewed. Despite three patients being admitted to the hospital during the inspection, no doctor or paramedical staff was present to treat them. The staff evaded the team’s questions about the hospital’s registration before finally admitting that it had not been renewed.

Officials took quick action

As a result of these violations, both hospitals have been sealed by the health department. The operators of Jeevan Raksha Hospital have been asked to provide full details of the hospital to health department officials. In contrast, Yash Raj Hospital’s operators have been ordered to cease operations immediately and comply with all relevant regulations.

The health department will continue to monitor all healthcare facilities to ensure that they operate legally and provide safe and effective healthcare services to the people of Prayagraj.

The sealing of Jeevan Raksha Hospital and Yash Raj Hospital by health department officials for operating without proper registration highlights the importance of following the laws and regulations put in place by the government to ensure the safety of citizens. The sealing of these hospitals should warn other healthcare facilities that proper registration is mandatory, and non-compliance will result in severe consequences. Healthcare facilities are responsible for operating within the law and providing quality healthcare services to citizens.
