Supreme Court on Friday has rejected plea seeking the manufacture and use of firecrackers using barium. While backing the decision of Delhi government’s decision to ban use of firecrackers in Delhi ahead of Diwali festivals, the top court refused to interfere in the decision.

According to the sources, the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on September 11, in effort to curb the air pollution banned the manufacturing and sale of green fire crackers in Delhi.

Meanwhile, during the tweet, Delhi government also directed the DPCC (Delhi Pollution Control Committee) not to issue any licence for the sale and manufacturing in the national capital.

Here’s what Gopal Rai, the minister of Delhi said while announcing the ban:

Last week, a bench of justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundresh reserved the order after hearing the matter in connection with plea.

It is to be noted here that Delhi government has outlawed all the all the fire crackers to improve the air quality.
