The former Indian cricket team’s captain is all set to start a new venture as he enters into the stell industry by establishing his steel factory in Salboni in Paschim Medinipur of West Bengal.

On her 12-day journey to Dubai and Spain, Mamata Banerjee is traveling with Saurav Ganguly. In a speech on September 14 at the “Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)” in Madrid, Ganguly stated that the state-of-the-art facility would be completed in about a year.

The plant will be be built with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore and will create jobs for at least 6,000 people, “The initial investment will be Rs 2,500 crore. To begin with, it will result in job creation for around 6,000 people and then we will ramp up and another 50 per cent will be added to the workforce”.

Mamata Banerjee recieved a pat on the back from former BCCI chief Sourav Gangualy as he applauded the ease of doing buisness in the home state.

“I just wanted to say thank you to Mamata didi. In Bengal, we’ll construct our third steel mill. Many of us think that I am only interested in sports, but in 2007, we started a small steel plant, and in 5 to 6 months, we will develop a new steel plant in Medinipur. Let me tell you from my experience that the entire procedure only took 4-5 months, and I’m not just saying that just beacuse I’m traveling with the chief minister”, remarked Ganguly.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, also addresed the gathering to scout for Spanish investments in Bengal and to extend invitations to businessperson from that nation to attend the sixth Bengal Global Business Summit.
