Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh was arrested yesterday (October 04) by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged liquor scam. Since his arrest, AAP leaders have slammed the central government and BJP for using probe agencies as their puppets. Now, the party is all set to stage a protest outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi on Thursday over its Rajya Sabha leader Singh’s arrest.

Meanwhile, Singh will appear in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court today in the liquor policy scam case.

AAP to stage protest outside BJP headquarters in Delhi over Sanjay Singh’s arrest

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Delhi Minister Goyal Rai said, “If the Bharatiya Janata Party thinks that it can win elections by ‘using’ central agencies on the basis of power and imposing dictatorship, then history is the witness that the public gives a reply.”

“Tomorrow (Thursday), the AAP will hold a protest outside the BJP headquarters at 11 am against the dictatorship and to save democracy. I appeal to all that if you are in favour of democracy, please reach the BJP headquarters at the given time in order to save the constitution and democracy” Rai added.

ED arrests AAP leader Sanjay Singh in connection with liquor policy case

Earlier on Wednesday, the ED escorted Sanjay Singh from his Delhi residence after arresting him in connection with the controversial liquor policy case.

His arrest came hours after the probe agencies conducted raids at Singh’s residence in the national capital/

Notably, this is the second high-profile case by the ED after Manish Sisodia’s arrest in the liquor police case.

CM Kejriwal reacts to this

Reacting to Singh’s arrest, Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal said, “The arrest of Sanjay Singh is completely illegal. This shows Modiji’s nervousness. They will arrest many more opposition leaders till the elections.”
