Amid ongoing row over Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks against ‘Sanatan Dharma’, the BJP’s state unit has called for a protest in Chennai on Monday, demanding the dismissal of another minister, PK Sekar Babu in connection with the matter.

According to the information, the announcement from state’s BJP came with a claim that Minister Sekar Babu, who heads the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, has violated the oath of office as he was also present at the conference on Sanatan Dharma, where Udhayanidhi went on an explosive rant.

The sources have claimed that the protest will be led by the BJP’s state president K Annamalai. He also announced for the similar protests that will be held across the state demanding to block the offices of the Hindu Charitable Department across Tamil Nadu.

It is to be noted that before this, on September 9, Annamalai, came heavily on DMK government claiming a complete breakdown of law and order after Udhayanidhi’s Sanatan Dharma remarks. Taking a strong exception to his comments, BJP has asked for the apology.

What did Udhayanidhi said?

While speaking at a conference in Chennai few days back, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in the Tamil Nadu government, compared Sanatan Dharma with “mosquitoes, dengue, malaria, fever and corona”, saying that it should be eradicated and not merely opposed.
