The residence of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh is underway a raid by a team of the Directorate Enforcement (ED) in relation to the excise policy case. In a video shared by ANI, the MP’s residence is seen being searched by a team of probe agency ED.

In May, the AAP leader had written a letter to Finance Secretary T V Somanathan citing that the ED Director and Assistant Director deliberately linked his name to the alleged liquor scam without any basis, thereby tarnishing his public image and defaming him.

According to Singh, his name was added on the basis of Dinesh Arora was named as an accused in the Delhi liquor policy scam case. She also accused the officers of having misused their position and tarnished his public image, therefore demanding prosecution against them.

He said he already sent a legal notice to the officers to issue an open and public apology.

According to ED sources, the name of the AAP leader appears four times in the ED charge sheet out of which one reference was wrong and typed inadvertently.

At one place Sanjay Singh’s name was mentioned instead of Rahul Singh who was then excise commissioner. ED is reportedly searching the residence of Sanjay Singh, further details are awaited.

The Supreme Court will resume hearing the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on today, October 4.
