Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023: Ahead of the much-anticipated Assembly vote results in Rajasthan, the political arena is already buzzing with activity. Vasundhara Raje, a senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, has jumped into action even before the outcome is declared.

In a significant move, the former CM met Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra on Friday, citing the encounter as a courtesy meeting.

Active Pursuit of Rebels and Independents

Sources reveal that Vasundhara Raje's engagement didn't end with the courtesy meeting. The BJP has reportedly assigned her the crucial task of liaising with independent and rebel candidates. Following these directives, Raje has embarked on the mission to persuade rebels and court independents.

Additionally, she has been tasked with reaching out to MLAs from smaller parties, potentially ensuring their support if the need arises to form a government.

Rebels in the Spotlight

Several prominent BJP figures contested the elections as rebels, adding an intriguing dimension to the unfolding political drama:

  1. Kailash Meghwal: A former minister and MP, Kailash Meghwal faced differences with Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, leading to his expulsion from the BJP. He chose to contest the assembly elections as an independent candidate.

  2. Bhavani Singh Rajawat: Denied a ticket from Ladpura by the BJP, Rajawat shifted to Ladnun, entering the race as an independent candidate.

  3. Yunus Khan: A close associate of Vasundhara Raje, Khan rebelled after being denied a ticket from Didwana in this election.

  4. Anita Singh Nagar: Considered close to Vasundhara Raje, Nagar's ticket was revoked by the BJP, prompting her to contest independently.

Exit Polls Indicate Neck-To-Neck Fight

Exit polls on November 30 hinted at a closely contested battle between the BJP and Congress in Rajasthan. The average of all exit polls suggested a slight advantage for the BJP, projecting 110 to 116 seats. Notably, the BJP refrained from declaring a chief ministerial face in Rajasthan before the Assembly elections.

As the political landscape heats up, Vasundhara Raje's strategic moves add an intriguing layer to the unfolding narrative, setting the stage for a riveting aftermath.
