Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023: With the eagerly anticipated election result day approaching on December 3 in Rajasthan, Praveen Gupta, State Chief Electoral Officer, has shared key details about the counting process, scheduled to commence at 8 am. Postal ballots are set to take the lead in the counting process.

Praveen Gupta, speaking to ANI, revealed, "Preparations have been made at all counting centres in the state. Counting for the 199 Assembly constituencies will begin at 8 am on December 3. After opening the strong room, postal ballots will be counted first; these are around 5 lakh in number. There are 1121 Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) assigned."

Accessing Results

Results will be accessible to the general public on the official website of the Election Commission (EC) by visiting the ECI.gov.in website. A dedicated TV display has been set up to showcase the evolving results, directly streaming from the RO room to the media centre. The same results will also be accessible on the ECI.gov.in website for the general public.

Security Arrangements

To ensure a secure and transparent counting process, a comprehensive security arrangement has been established for results day. Praveen Gupta stated, "As far as security is concerned, a three-tier cordon-off has been done - 40 CAPF companies have been deployed across the state. All the EVM strong rooms have been barricaded. In total, 175 companies have been deployed for security."

Mizoram Election Counting Rescheduled

In a related development, the Election Commission announced the rescheduling of the Mizoram Assembly election counting to December 4. This decision followed representations highlighting the special significance of December 3 for the people of Mizoram, being a Sunday.
