Rajasthan: 33 injured as bus overturns in Pratapgarh

Although the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, but tyre burst could be one of the reasons, as per police officials.

At least 33 passengers who were travelling in a bus left injured after it overturned late on Monday night. According to the police officials, the bus was travelling from Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur to Rajasthan's Pratapgarh.

As per reports, all injured have been rushed to the district hospital, where three passengers were said to be critical.

The bus, according to the police, was a Jakhar Travels vehicle travelling from Mandsaur to Pratapgarh. They said that the fast bus lost control and flipped close to Hathuniya hamlet.

Following the collision, there was a commotion within the bus, prompting residents to rush to the scene and break the bus's glass windows in order to rescue the passengers.

A police squad from the Hathunia police station arrived on the scene and rushed the patients to the district hospital.

Soon after getting the information about the mishap, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rishikesh Meena, and administrative officers reached the district hospital and took stock of the situation.

ASP Meena informed that the treatment of the injured has started in the district hospital.

Although the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, primarily because of a tyre burst, he added.
