A FIR has been registered against a man in Rajasthan’s Pali district for putting his wife’s hand in the boiling oil and asking her to put chillis in her private parts for proving herself, calling it her ‘agni pariksha’.
According to the police officials, a case has been registered against him after receiving complaint from the accused’s wife. The 40-year-old victim reached the police station on September 5 for to seek a FIR against her husband. For lodging the complaint, she managed to flee from her house, the police said. Notably, the couple has been married from last 15 years and accused has having an affair, according to the victim.
The complaint has been registered against seven, including husband of the victim. Prime facie, it seemed to be a dowry case. Although no arrest has been made in the case so far and the investigation is underway.
As per reports, police officials are waiting for the medical examination reports of the woman and then will continue with the further investigation. A case under sections 498-A (cruelty by husband), 406 (breach of trust), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 384 (extortion) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.
