In Rajasthans Karauli district, a minor girl was allegedly raped by a public health engineering (PHE) department employee in Todabhim town on Saturday, said the police. The accused has been arrested.Case filed against accused for raping minorThe accused government employee has been identified as Sunil Kumar Jangid. Taking notes from the depressing incident, a case has been filed against him under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO)Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the officials said.Notably, the accused is posted as a senior assistant to an executive engineer in the department. After this disturbing incident came to light, he was immediately suspended from his post.“We are further looking into the case,” police added.As Sunil has now been sacked from his post, disciplinary action has been also proposed against him linked to this incident, according to a department order.Accomplice also thereMeanwhile, Kirodi Lal Meena, who was an executive engineer in PHED is also accused of protecting the accused and tampering with the evidence and misleading the investigation into the case, the department officials said.Further details have been awaited.
