A truck rammed into a bus on a National Highway stretch in Bharatpur of Rajasthan which killed at least 11 people and injured 12 others. The bus was said to be travelling from Rajasthans Pushkar to Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred at 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday.The bus carrying the passengers to Vrindavan had broken down on a bridge when the incident took place. Survivors of the accident have said that the bus driver and some passengers were standing behind the bus when the speeding truck rammed into the vehicle.The bus had halted at the Antra flyover in the Lakhanpur area after running out of fuel. This was when the truck rammed it from behind, causing the death of five men and six women. The deceased is said to have died on the spot, even before any first aid could be provided to them.Police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.PM Modi to compensate deceaseds family in Rajasthan bus accidentPrime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his grief over the incident and has promised an ex-gratia of Rs 2 Lakhs each from the Prime Ministers National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of those who died in the road accident and Rs 50,000 each announced for the injured.The Prime Ministers office shared on X about the relief money and wrote “The Prime Minister has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the mishap in Bharatpur. Police-administration is on the spot and the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment. I pray to God to give peace to the souls of all the deceased and courage to the families.
