On Friday, ED asked the court for another seven days custody of Manish Sisodia in the Delhi excise duty case. However, court has granted only 5 days custody in the case. In a press conference on Saturday, Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha made serious allegations against the Modi government following the court’s statement against Manish Sisodia.
During the press conference, Raghav Chadha said that the central government had made another false case against Manish Sisodia under the feedback unit. He said, “A false case has been registered against Manish Sisodia under the cover of the feedback unit. Since 2015, Manish Sisodia has been spying on PM Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders, according to BJP. And asked the CBI to register another case against Manish Sisodia.”
Chadha accused and questioned the BJP government saying, “I want to ask the overwhelming BJP government who is there at Centre with majority, how can someone spy the powerful person like PM Modi and other big leaders from last eight years and the central government or agencies, ED, CBI, IB and NIA, why these big agencies, did not even get to know about the spying?” Further he added, “If all this was happening, the first question arises at the central or probe agencies and their ability to work.”
In questioning the ability of the probe agencies, he stated, “If the half chief minister is spying on you for eight years, the agencies are not finding out them, then how will you deal with Pakistan and China?”. I want to tell BJP that if all this was happening, then first suspend all the senior officials of the IB, CBI and NIA, make CBI cases against them and put them in jail.” This questions the ability of the officials that someone was spying on the big leaders and they were not even able to find out.
Chadha further added, “I want to suggest that the BJP make allegations that are acceptable and believable by people. The FIR lodged by CBI under the feedback unit against Manish Sisodia is not based on facts, they are all fictional. The FIR registered by the CBI against Manish Sisodia on the alleged pretext of snooping using a feedback unit is not based on facts and is purely based on fiction.”
He said, “The motive of this FIR is just to ensure that Manish Sisodia doesn’t come out of jail. The BJP would like to ensure that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s right hand does not come out of prison, if he gets bail in one case, he gets jailed in the second, and if he gets bail in the third case, the third case will be registered against him. They are all working on this only.”
Taking about Pakistan and China, Chadha stated, “China is acquiring land in India, Pakistan is trying something, but the central agencies are just focusing on Manish Sisodia. The agencies are not focusing on how to tackle China and Pakistan.”
According to him, the CBI and other investigative agencies do not have any merits or inputs against Manish Sisodia. “They don’t have any questions, to be asked to Sisodia in the case. They don’t even have any recoveries; this is all just to ensure that he doesn’t come out of the jail.”
He added, “I want to tell BJP that instead of focusing on AAP and Manish Sisodia, they should look at others who are misusing the probe agencies and police.” Targeting Kiran Bhai Patel of BJP, he said “BJP party worker Kiran Bhai Patel is residing in Kashmir from the last six months, saying that he is in addition director of PM’s office. He has been given Z plus security in the region. While residing there, he is been organizing the meetings of IB, doing transfers of IPS officers, and enjoying the government money.” Lashing out at BJP, he said that probe these kinds of people who are using their name.
“Why central and probe agencies were sleeping from last eight years? This clearly shows that they don’t have any case, they just want Sisodia to not come out of jail”, he continued.
Raghav Chadha also accused the BJP of the no confidence motion. “AAP has 90 percent of the majority seats in house because of the love and trust of people in Delhi. Also, he said that they want to remove the Kejriwal government after getting a low confidence motion in the house. By giving the examples of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, he explained that people have seen how BJP has obtained the members for no confidence motion in the states. He also said that BJP is continuously calling and threatening the AAP members, and giving two options, either join BJP or ED or CBI will make a case against you. So, with the help of a no confidence motion they can break our government,” he added.
Added further during the conference, he said that “BJP has not won even a single election in the last 25 years in Delhi. AAP won against BJP in 2013, 2015, and 2020. After getting defeated several times, they are now misusing the leading agencies. In Delhi, the BJP, with only 8 seats, is threatening our legislative members with bringing no confidence, which would result in removing our government from office. I want to tell that we are not congress, who will move. We are born out of anti-movement. We cannot break the trust of the people of Delhi.”
On an ending note, he said that “I want to suggest BJP to stop doing all these things, and if they bring the low confidence motion, the result is known by everyone.”
